It is with great pleasure that we share with you the story of coach Richard Lungu as he has completed his Hospitality Management Degree. In a world filled with challenges, few stories embody resilience as vividly as Richard Lungu’s. From growing up as an orphan in Mandevu compound to navigating multiple responsibilities while pursuing a Hospitality Management Diploma, his journey is a testament to unwavering determination and the transformative power of education.

Completing a Hospitality Management Diploma while managing a busy life isn’t easy. Richard Lungu knows this firsthand. Alongside playing hockey, coaching, and handling family responsibilities, he had to figure out how to juggle it all without letting anything slip.

Richard’s upbringing wasn’t easy. Raised by his grandmother in Mandevu as an orphan, he completed high school in 2015 while supporting his family through work. Joining Hockey Dreams Foundation in 2018 as a coach opened a new door. By 2020, he began his Hospitality Management course, but transport was tough. He reached out to the foundation for help and got a bicycle, crucial for attending classes.

The degree lasted three years, with tough exams each semester. Richard faced challenges, needing to redo some courses in the second year. But he kept going and finished in June 2023, with his graduation in November the same year. He’s grateful to Hockey Dreams Foundation for changing his life with this diploma. He sees it as a chance to make a difference for others too.

Richard’s journey teaches us that determination and support can help conquer tough times. As he moves forward with his diploma, he stands as an example of how challenges can be overcome with perseverance.

“ I thank Hockey Dreams Foundation and all supporters for the great opportunity of my life. With this diploma, my life has changed and I will continue to be a game changer in the lives of others too. Thank you so much!” – Richard
