After more than 10 years of involvement with Hockey Dreams Foundation, of which the last 9 years as chairman, Jan Willem will hand over the baton to a new Board member this year. We are pleased that we have found Peter Vermaas, who wants to take up the challenge with fresh energy to take HDF one step further in its mission “Creating a better future through sport”. Jan Willem will not leave the board immediately but will remain in the role of Secretary in which he will replace Claudia van de Peppel who, after 9 years, will step down as Secretary.

“What started in 2011 as Stichting Kadish Foundation, at Gijs Hardeman’s kitchen table, has grown into a wonderful organization that is really changing lives through the dedication of many volunteers. And I am incredibly proud, but especially grateful, that I was able to be part of that all these years. After more than 9 years it is time to hand over my role to someone else. I will certainly not leave the Hockey Dreams Foundation. In the coming months I will guide and train my replacement and also take on the role of Secretary.
After the summer of 2023, Peter Vermaas will take on the role of Chairman and I will be very happy to continue to make myself useful to the Foundation in a different way in a role behind the scenes. I hereby express my deepest gratitude to all the people, companies and organizations who have supported us over the years, and I wish that they will continue to do so. An even bigger thank you goes to all the passionate volunteers who work day in and day out for our Foundation to really change lives through sport. Without all these lovely people, Hockey Dreams Foundation would never have become what it is today.”

“It has been a privilege to be involved with Kadish, and later Hockey Dreams Foundation, for the past 9 years. I once gave the advice to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to support hockey in Zambia and Gijs Hardeman was sent out for a period of 6 months to view and start things up on the spot. And now it has grown into a wonderful foundation that does good work in Zambia, Uganda and Malawi. I am proud of all the local people we educate, and have trained, and who educate others themselves. In this way the baton is always passed on. I am also passing the baton now. I will always be available to HDF as an Advisor and I am pleased that the board continues in very capable hands.”
