Hi, we are
We believe in the power of sport

How we work
There is little support for young people in some African regions due to lack of resources. Even when education is available, it is hard, if not impossible, for motivated, talented young people to take charge of their future and create a better future for themselves, including access to the labour market. With more than 10 years of experience in our pockets, we run a sport for development programme. We believe sport and education is beneficial way to educate youngsters and prepare them for their futures. So, we focus on the heroes of any sport: the coaches. They learn how to play, set goals, take charge of their life, care for themselves and others, to speak up, and how to dream big. By linking organizations, local schools, sport associations and partners, we build communities where everyone is united and empowered through sport.
Hockey Dreams Foundation, formerly known as the Kadish Foundation, was founded by Gijs Hardeman in April 2012. He started the organisation after setting up a half year project in Zambia on behalf of the Dutch Hockey Association. Invited by the International Olympic Committee, that project supported a hockey program at a new artificial grass pitch in Lusaka whereby local coaches introduced the sport to the community. When this project ended, Gijs decided to start a foundation which would continue with its objectives. Hockey Dreams Foundation was born.
Sustainable Development Goals
Hockey Dreams focuses on the UN Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, 10, 11, 16. Through our work, we create sustained, inclusive and sustainable sport communities.
